| This is the Mercedes iPod kit for the new audio units supplied from Model Year 09 (i.e new cars delivered from mid June 08 onwards). This includes the A,B,ML,GL,R,E,CLS,SLK class cars. It is not suitable for the W204 C class, the new E Class saloon coupe or estate (W212/W217) or Current S/CL class (W221/W216) cars or the SL(R230) or SLS. It is also not for the CLK.
** Mercedes Benz no longer stock these, these are the last ones we have in stock *** If fitting to a Sptinter/Vito/Viano with bluetooth built into the head unit then the vehicle must have the multifunction steering wheel with telephone buttons and cluster display. If you have Comand you will have this. The option code for the multifunction steering wheel is CL4. - This iPod kit takes about an hour to install, and allows you to use your iPod with the steering wheels on your car. Track, playlist and other information is displayed on the instrument cluster display. The iPod tucks nicely away in the glovebox can can be held in place with the optional iPod cradle (dependant on iPod type). This kit has been tested with, and works great with. the new iPhone. If you want to use the ipod kit with an iphone as both ipod and phone then you will need an HFP bluetooth cradle also. This will give you full phone and ipod functionality in your car, in the one device If your car does not have the integrated phone system, then you may need to have the steering wheel controls enabled by a MB dealer or specialist. Enabling the controls should take about 15 minutes using their diagnostic computer. You should consider purchasing the cradle as-well, it just helps protect your iPod/iPhone in the car.
